About the School

Since its creation in 1983, the Altos de Chavón Cultural Center Foundation was born with the purpose of providing educational opportunities in art and design to talented people and cultivate art and design as engines of social transformation in the Dominican Republic. From this vision CHAVÓN La Escuela de Diseño was born, an institution that for more than 40 years has trained thousands of outstanding artists and designers, leaders in the industry nationally and internationally.

Located in the Dominican Republic and founded in partnership with Parsons School of Design, CHAVÓN is a global center for art and design education that attracts students from around the world. Its practical, innovative and market-oriented approach prepares its graduates to excel as professionals, entrepreneurs and agents of change in areas of study such as Design and Communication, Artistic Expressions, Spaces and Fashion, among others.
