Since its creation in 1983, the Altos de Chavón Cultural Center Foundation was born with the purpose of providing educational opportunities in art and design to talented individuals and cultivating art and design as drivers of social transformation in the Dominican Republic.
From this vision comes CHAVÓN School of Design, an institution that for over 40 years has trained thousands of outstanding artists and designers, leaders in the industry at national and international levels.
Located in the Dominican Republic and founded in partnership with Parsons School of Design, CHAVÓN is a global center for art and design education that attracts students from around the world.
Its practical, innovative, and market-oriented approach prepares graduates to excel as professionals, entrepreneurs, and agents of change in study areas such as Design and Communication, Artistic Expressions, Spaces and Fashion, among others.
Through its educational programs, artist residencies, and exhibition spaces, CHAVÓN has fostered creativity and cultural exchange. The School’s graduates not only lead international brands but also impact the Orange Economy, contributing innovative ideas and successful careers in companies, agencies, and as independent artists.
For more than four decades, CHAVÓN has been a pillar in enriching the educational landscape of the region, reaffirming its commitment to art, design, and culture in the Dominican Republic.
