CHAVÓN School of Design is a leader in training art and design professionals throughout the region.
CHAVÓN offers two and three-year programs equivalent to an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree, with a curriculum designed in partnership with Parsons School of Design since 1983, which continuously evolves to meet the demands of the global industry.
Students also have the option of pursuing advanced studies at Parsons School of Design in New York, leading to a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree.
CHAVÓN classes are conducted in Spanish by an international faculty comprising renowned academics, artists, and designers from Latin America and the Caribbean, the United States, and Europe. These esteemed professionals infuse global perspectives into the classroom experience, complemented by an international network of visiting faculty and industry guests who enrich learning through valuable professional connections and real-world insights.
Programs are taught at the Santo Domingo Campus. Students, known as “Chavoneros” and “Chavoneras,” form a dynamic community that persists beyond classes and graduation, creating a global network of creative professionals.
The iconic Altos de Chavón campus, located in Casa de Campo, La Romana, continues to be an emblematic space that enriches our students’ educational experience. Throughout their studies, students visit the campus to participate in intensive workshops and special activities with international guests, experiencing firsthand the inspiration this unique environment offers.
