Fashion and automobiles<\/strong> are the two products whose design has dominated the public imagination for more than 100 years. It is therefore not surprising that fashion is one of the world\u2019s largest industries. After all, everyone wears clothes!<\/em> But unlike automobiles, whose designers are mostly unknown, fashion designers, like movie stars, are celebrities. Everyone knows who they are, and they are regularly featured in slick magazines, on TV and are daily in the press. We all follow their careers because the products they create actually carry their names, which often become major brands in and of themselves. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Becoming a fashion designer<\/strong> is an exacting journey of learning and\ncreativity, coupled with manufacturing technology, marketing and merchandising\nsavvy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

CHAV\u00d3N The School of Design’s Fashion Design program shows students how to transform their creative concepts into wearable, deliverable and exciting garments that, at their best, rival fine art itself in their imaginative creativity. CHAV\u00d3N\u2019s curriculum extends from conceptual drawing and pattern making to the selection of colors and fabrics, culminating in the skilled production of wearable and marketable goods. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

CHAV\u00d3N\u2019s historic affiliation with\nParsons School of Design<\/strong>, whose\ndepartment of fashion design is the most important in the world, has made its\ncurriculum uniquely competitive. This has given CHAV\u00d3N\u2019s fashion alumni a\nstrong competitive edge that has propelled many of them into the ranks of the\nindustry\u2019s top designers. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
