The Screenwriter as Author is an intensive 20-week program for creators seeking to develop a feature film project from initial idea to polished screenplay. Structured as a writing laboratory, the program blends theoretical instruction, hands-on workshops, one-on-one mentoring, and group feedback sessions led by renowned international screenwriters and script doctors.

Participants develop their individual projects across five comprehensive modules that explore narrative structure, character construction, synopsis and treatment development, full screenplay drafts, critical evaluation, and professional pitching and development strategies.

Hybrid Format

  • Virtual and in-person classes
  • Three-hour sessions, three times per week
  • 350 hours (20 weeks)

Admission and Requirements

Admission to the program requires an application process. Applications are open to professionals 21 years and older with experience or prior training in writing or film, who have a clear concept for an original or adapted screenplay.

Prerequisites:

  • Brief project synopsis
  • Motivation letter
  • Resume with education and experience
  • Basic knowledge of screenplay formatting
  • Access to screenwriting software (Final Draft, Celtx, or similar)
